Upvox is an offline audiobook player. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data the app accesses and how it is handled.

Data Collection

Upvox does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. The app operates entirely offline on your device. No analytics, tracking, or telemetry of any kind is used.

Device Permissions

Upvox requests the following permissions, all of which are used locally on your device:

• Audio files access — to find and play audiobook files stored on your device.
• Image files access — to display cover art from your audiobook folders.
• Internet — used solely to search for book cover images and book information when you explicitly request it. No data is sent from your device.
• Notifications — to show playback controls in the notification bar while listening.
• Foreground service — to continue audio playback when the app is in the background.

Local Storage

Upvox stores your audiobook library, playback progress, bookmarks, and settings in a local database on your device. This data is not backed up to any cloud service and is not accessible to other apps.

Third-Party Services

Upvox does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. When you use the cover search or book information features, web requests are made directly to public websites. No personal information is included in these requests.

Speech Recognition

If you use the closed captions feature, speech recognition is performed entirely on your device using an offline model. No audio data is transmitted.

Children

Upvox is not directed at children under 13.
